Being a Maker

Dezbah Stumpff is a second-generation silversmith from Santa Fe, New Mexico currently residing in Tucson, AZ. She began learning the trade from her father, George Stumpff, from the age of 15. She went to the School of the Art Institute in 2008 and earned a degree in Painting and Drawing. In 2012 she launched Dezbah Stumpff Maker as an independently run, fully trademarked business showcasing strikingly original hand-made silver, copper and occasionally gold jewelry. A hallmark of Dezbah Stumpff Maker is heavy gauge metal, exceptional stones and a contemporary-earthy elegance. Committed making a "green impact" I use all recycled precious metals. These incredible metals are also processed

I use the name
DezbahMaker as a way to honor my father who uses the stamp GWS Maker on his jewelry. As a cowboy he took the Maker mark from saddle-makers who would use maker paired with their initials or last name to indicate that it was a handmade saddle.

Welcome to DezbahMaker!

What is it that you love and hold precious? Throughout my career as a jeweler I have witnessed the power of jewelry to mark an important event, assist as a talisman for change, symbolize a marriage, be a kind of magic wand and to make someone feel sassy and sparkly. I want to make the pieces that make you feel good, that remind you of the beauty in the earth and the well of uniqueness and joy within you!

I make some of the most exceptional jewelry for some of the most matchless people in the world. Let me help you express your wild wonder.

Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind - sculptural adornments. I am inspired by my materials - recycled metals, distinctive stones, organic and made textures. The results are pieces of earthy elegance, weight, refining the unrefined into objects of beauty. Further inspiration comes from the deep and abiding beauty of the Southwest.

Committed to making a “green impact” I use all recycled precious metals. These incredible metals are also refined using a “green” process a practice that is kind to the environment. In addition, I follow green business practices and I recycle like it was going out of style.
